Social Attention Study

Goals

  1. How does our brain pay attention to other people? 
  2. How does social attention relate to other skills? ​

Who

Ages 10-14 years old
✓ Neurotypical participants can complete the Social Attention study.

Neurodiverse participants (e.g., autistic children) should check out our other study: Brain and Behavior Across Development (BBAD) Study

What

The study lasts between 2-3 hours.
Participants will:
  1. Complete surveys and questionnaires (<30 minutes)
  2. Play computer games while wearing an EEG cap
Parents will:
  1. Complete surveys and questionnaires (<30 minutes)

Where

Participation will take place at the University of South Carolina.

There is an option to complete the study off-site (e.g., at a local community center or your home). Contact our lab for more information 

Compensation

Each participant will receive:
  •  $50 for completing all of the tasks
  • Will have a chance to choose a prize from our prize box
