The BioGENE Study:
GRIN2B Participants page

In 2019, the GRIN2B Foundation awarded Dr. Caitlin Hudac a research grant. We have been using this funding to support data collection of EEG biomarkers for GRIN2B. We recently collected data on a Fall 2021 "research roadtrip" with over 25 families! Other upcoming opportunities listed below.

We will be posting preliminary results and a "GRIN2B Warrior" highlight reel after the 2022 Family meeting, so check back soon!
What to expect during a BioGENE research visit:
  • We will review consent forms and let you ask questions. We will help the participant get comfortable in the room.
  • We will measure the participant's head and soak an EEG net for ~5-10 minutes. It only takes a few seconds to put on the net and make a few adjustments. Starting in August 2022, we will also be recording heart rate by placing stickers on the participant's chest.
  • The participant will be able to watch our videos or can watch their own tablet or movies on mute. We will play different sounds and videos for ~20-30 minutes.
  • We will give parents/caregivers a packet of surveys or questionnaires to complete. These can also be filled out before or after the session.

Draft 1! Follow up video to come in August with more GRIN2B warriors!

Research opportunities at the GRIN2B Family Weekend

The B-RAD Lab was in Chicago, IL for the GRIN2B Family Weekend, July 15-16 2022! Learn more about the  Family Weekend schedule and details here: http://grin2b.com/family-weekend-2022/

Dr. Hudac (left, on her bike in South Carolina) and Rebecca (right, graduate student) had a great time at the Family Weekend! Thank you to all the families who chatted with us, including another 5 new BioGENE participants!
