Bridge to Faculty (B2F)
​Scholar Program

The unofficial FAQ for Bridge to Faculty (B2F) Postdoctoral Scholar - Psychology hire 

The bullet points:

  1. Growing the workforce: We are hoping to attract, support, and retain scholars from groups historically underrepresented in Psychology
  2. Launch an independent & research-focused postdoctoral fellowship
  3. We will help you build  a supportive professional and research mentorship team of USC faculty 
  4. You would enter with  11 other B2F ​scholars -- we anticipate monthly cohort meetings, seminars, and networking opportunities
  5. You have the opportunity to transition to faculty within 2 years (starting in 2025-2026 academic year)​
  6. We are hoping to GROW in our areas of strength: neuroscience and/or health equity.
  7. Ph.D Candidates and 1st postdocs are encouraged to apply​​​​

Qualifications: The selection committee welcomes applications from candidates who contribute to increasing diversity in their fields, as historically underrepresented persons in higher education, and/or by pursing scholarship that contributes to understanding issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, past or present.  
  • Must have PhD in Psychology, Psychological Sciences, Neuroscience, or related field from an accredited institution by August 16, 2023 
  • A cover letter describing the applicant’s interest in doing postdoctoral work, specifically at USC, with relevant personal and professional background. In addition, identify 1-2 faculty members who could act as their postdoctoral supervisor while they are in residence at USC 
  • A curriculum vitae including name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address 
  • Transcripts (indicating completion or expected completion of PhD by August 16, 2023) 
  • Statement of research (three-page limit) 
  • Statement of teaching/mentoring (one-page limit) 
  • Optional statement on diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts (two-page limit). We also encourage applicants to describe past, current, and future contributions to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice within their research and teaching/mentoring statements, as appropriate.  
  • Up to two (2) writing samples 
  • Three references who will be able to supply letters of recommendation if requested. If the candidate has not yet defended their dissertation, include a letter from the dissertation supervisor confirming that the PhD will be completed by August 16, 2023 
  • Any accommodations requested 
Fellowship applicants must be eligible and authorized to work in the US without an employer-sponsored visa.
