The Teen Brain Decision Study is recruiting 12 to 17 year olds!

​In this study, we want to learn how teens make decisions about people. 

Teens will answer survey questions, watch videos, look at pictures, and play computer games while we measure brain and heart activity. Teens' parents will also answer survey questions. Teens earn up to $50 and parents earn $10.

The study will take two hours and is located at the University of South Carolina campus in Columbia, SC. We will work with your schedule to find the best time and day for you and your teen to complete the study.

​​HOW DO WE MEASURE BRAIN ACTIVITY?

We use a wet cap called electroencephalography (EEG). This cap has small sponges and wires that we soak in warm water. The cap lets us see brain waves that look like this:

HOW DO WE MEASURE HEART ACTIVITY?

We use small sticky pads called electrocardiography (ECG) to measure your heart beat. We have you place them on your skin.

Hi! My name is Rebecca, and I will be leading teens and their parents through the TBD Study!

I'm a doctoral student at the University of South Carolina. I have been doing research studies for eight years and working with EEG for five years.
